Acquired by the Capponi family in 1524, Villa Calcinaia has since grown from its four original farmhouses to its present dimension, approximately 215 hectares of land characterised by expanses of vineyard, olive trees and woodland.
Located along the via Chiantigiana, the villa sits at the end of a long cypress lined drive, nestled among the gentle hills of the Greve valley.
Calcinaia offers a superb natural setting with all the conveniences of nearby shopping in the town of Greve and the pleasures of fine wine, olive oil and vinegar from the family winery. Guests to Villa Calcinaia may enjoy the hospitality of various agritourism residences, apartments in the newly restructured, historic farmhouses that mark the landscape.
The apartment at San Pierino, Le Refie and Il Prato, featured on Italy’s RAI3 travel program Bell’Italia, have been prised for their renovation that has brought together the most modern conveniences with an historical appreciation for the countryside, its customs and architecture.

Canonica
From the ancient rectory adjacent to the small church of San Piero al Pino (13th century), two apartments have been restructured. Canonica (sleeps 5) offers views from the ground floor terrace of the surrounding vineyards, as well as an outdoor grill. Indoors on the ground floor is a large kitchen with fireplace and all appliances as well as a bathroom with bathtub. On the first floor is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a bath with bathtub; on the second floor is the sitting room with views to the hills and a single bedroom.
Ground floor: large kitchen with working fireplace, clothes and dish washer, bathroom with bathtub, private terrace with table, chairs and barbeque.
First floor: double bedroom, bedroom with two singles, bathroom with bathtub

Pool open only in the high season. Heating is available in winter months at an added cost based on consumption. Animals permitted (dogs and cats only). Bed and bath linen included with rental.
